Halloween Fly-In Brings Family Fun to Sacramento Executive Airport

Sacramento, CA — Sacramento Executive Airport (SAC) will welcome families and aviation enthusiasts for a free Halloween Fly-In on Saturday, October 24, from noon to 4 p.m.

Hosted by Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1714 and sponsored by FL510, the event will feature airplanes, food trucks, trick-or-treating and activities for kids. Costumes are encouraged for attendees of all ages.

EAA Chapter 1714 is a Sacramento-based aviation community focused on making aviation hands-on, welcoming and accessible. Its members include pilots, air traffic controllers, aircraft builders, students, industry professionals and aviation enthusiasts. The chapter creates opportunities for people to experience aviation in unexpected ways, from drone flying and air traffic control simulations to aircraft-building projects and public airport events.

The chapter also connects aspiring aviation professionals with mentors and is fundraising to provide private pilot scholarships. Through these programs and events, Chapter 1714 aims to show people of all ages and backgrounds that there is a place for them in aviation.

“Sacramento Executive Airport is proud to be part of the surrounding community, and we love opportunities to welcome our neighbors onto the airport,” said Cindy Nichol, Director of Airports for Sacramento County. “Events like the Halloween Fly-In give families a chance to experience aviation up close, meet people who are passionate about it and hopefully inspire some future aviators along the way.”
