Sacramento International Airport, Southwest Announce New Nonstops to Mexico, Tucson, Baltimore
Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is proud to announce three new nonstop flights on Southwest Airlines. Beginning March 6 Southwest will launch a daily redeye flight to Baltimore (BWI) offering passengers a new route to the East Coast. On March 8 Southwest begins service to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) and Tucson (TUS). The airline is also increasing the frequency of flights offered to Los Cabos (SJD).
“We are excited to offer more cities and routes across the United States and Mexico,” said Cindy Nichol, Director of the Sacramento County Department of Airports. “These routes support our business community and leisure travel sectors with more options.”
Sacramento International Airport continues to expand its nonstop offerings, strengthening its role as a key gateway for travelers in Northern California. Southwest also began flying to Orlando (MCO) March 1 and will increase the frequency of that flight until it becomes daily May 1. The airline recently entered into a partnership with Icelandair with Baltimore (BWI) as a shared gateway.
This new flight is just one of many recent additions as SMF continues to grow and enhance its offerings. By July, SMF will offer more than 196 daily nonstop flights on 12 domestic and international carriers, connecting travelers to 36 destinations across the globe.
