SACRAMENTO, CA. — Sacramento International Airport will temporarily close the Terminal B split from Airport Boulevard Wednesday, March 24 at 8 a.m. through Tuesday, March 30, 2010 to support Big Build construction phasing. During the closure, all vehicle traffic to the terminals will follow the same route in front of both terminals.

“Sacramento International Airport is poised to debut a new, state-of-the-art terminal to the region at in less than 23 months,” said Hardy Acree, Sacramento County Airport System Director of Airports. “Our goal is to minimize the impact to the customer while preserving the construction schedule.”

During the closure, passengers should arrive approximately 15 minutes earlier than they normally do to ensure a stress- free experience and timely arrival for flights. Drivers arriving to pick up passengers but who do not plan to park in an hourly lot are strongly encouraged to use the free Cell Phone Lot near the entrance of the airport.

Drivers should wait until passengers have collected all baggage before exiting the lot to prevent additional traffic congestion due to circling vehicles. Construction Phasing also requires closure of the Terminal B Daily Parking Lot. Drivers who need to park for flights out of Terminal B will have the following options:

  • Economy Parking at the posted rate of $9 per day. Parking shuttle service is available to transport passengers to Terminal B
  • Terminal A Parking Garage, Daily Levels are open at the posted rate of $2 per ½ hour or $15 per day. Inter-terminal Shuttle service is available to transport passengers to Terminal B.
  • Terminal A Surface Lot, located adjacent to the garage, is open at the posted rate of $2 per ½ hour or $13 per day. Parking shuttle service is available to transport passengers to Terminal B.
  • Terminal B Hourly Parking will remain open with a new entrance point. Drivers travel can access Terminal B Hourly Parking just beyond Terminal B. The posted rate of $2 per ½ hour or $27 per day will apply.
