Southwest Adds New Nonstop Service to Long Beach & Spokane
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Southwest has announced it will offer new daily nonstop service to Long Beach (LGB) and Spokane, Washington (GEG) beginning Aug. 1. Southwest will also offer additional flights to San Diego and Seattle beginning June 5. The service expansion will make Sacramento (SMF) the 16th largest airport in the Southwest network.
Southwest will offer two flights a day to to Long Beach and one daily flight to Spokane. Nonstop service to Spokane was last offered from Sacramento in 2011.
“These new nonstop options give our Capital City customers time-saving ways to and from both Long Beach and Spokane and bring us to 80 departures a day from Sacramento this summer,” said Andrew Watterson, Senior Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer for Southwest. “And the additional seats we’re adding through new flights to San Diego and Seattle this summer continue an investment we began making in Sacramento more than 25 years ago – a key part of our strategy to be the hometown carrier of Californians with more than 670 departures a day from 10 airports in the Golden State.”

With these additional flights, Southwest will have 80 peak daily departures to 17 nonstop destinations from Sacramento International Airport.
