Lisa Stanton Named Sacramento County Airport System Chief Operating Officer

SACRAMENTO, CA. — Today the Sacramento County Airport System announced that Lisa Stanton, former Chief Administrative Officer has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO). In her role , Stanton will direct the activities of the Operations and Maintenance divisions responsible for security, aircraft rescue and firefighting, operation and maintenance of Sacramento International Airport, Mather Airport, Executive Airport and Franklin Field.

“Lisa has successfully applied a private sector approach to finance and business administration at the Sacramento County Airport System, resulting in significant cost reductions while simultaneously increasing overall effectiveness and efficiency,” said G. Hardy Acree. “Her business acumen will greatly benefit Sacramento County Airport System operations, especially in regard to planning for successful operation
of Sacramento International Airport as the opening date of Central Terminal B draws near.”

“I welcome the challenge and opportunity provided by this new role,” Stanton stated. “The Chief Operating Officer has a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the Sacramento County Airport System and its airports that directly impact the customer experience.”

Stanton has 23 years of experience in airport business management and finance as both a consultant and airport manager, 17 of which have been with the County of Sacramento. Stanton has served as Principal for Black & Veatch Airport Consulting; Associate Director at Ricondo & Associates and Sr. Consultant with KPMG Peat Ma rwick’s Airport Management Consulting Practice (now Leigh Fisher).

During her 17-year career with Sacramento County and its agencies, Stanton has served in several key management positions. Stanton was the Deputy Director of Military Base Conversion, coordinating military base privatization and conversion of the bases in Sacramento County:MatherandMcClellan. AsChiefAdministrativeOfficerwiththeSacramentoCounty Airport System, she directed financing of the Airport System’s $1 billion capital improvement program; the Big Build – the largest capital improvement program in Sacramento County history. Stanton also has served as Deputy Director of Finance and Administration and Manager of Properties and Business Development with the Sacramento County Airport System.

Stanton is first person from California to receive the International Airport Professional (IAP) accreditation from Airports Council International and the International Civil Aviation Organization. Stanton was also named CFO of the Year by the Sacramento Business Journal in 2010.

Stanton is the First Vice-Chair for the Airports Council International – North America Finance Committee and will serve as Chair of the Finance Committee in 2012. She is also the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Capital Air Show Group, the producer of the annual California Capital Air Show.
