Sacramento International Airport Opens New Economy Lot Parking

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento International Airport opened a second Economy Lot adding 2600 parking spaces on campus. Starting today, passengers have the option of parking in the West Economy Lot at the same $10/day rate as the existing Economy Lot (now called the East Economy Lot).

Previously, the West Economy Lot had been used as the Overflow Lot, opening only when both the Economy and Daily parking lots closed. The lot has been renamed the West Economy Lot and will remain open regardless of other lot closures.

Unlike other parking lots on the SMF campus, the West Economy Lot is pre-pay by license plate or the last 6 digits of the VIN number if a car does not have a license plate. As with our East Economy lot, shuttle service will be provided to and from the lot in 20-25 minute intervals.

“We have seen such tremendous growth over the last 3 years, we anticipate we will serve 13 million passenger in 2019 far outpacing our growth predictions,” says Cindy Nichole, Sacramento County Department of Airports Director. “Opening the West Economy Lot adds additional parking while we evaluate our future infrastructure needs.”

Additional information about parking at SMF can be found on the Sacramento International Airport website, www.sacramento.aero.
