Sacramento Intl Airport Celebrates Launch of New Service to Austin, St. Louis on April 8

SACRAMENTO - Southwest is set to launch daily nonstop service to Austin and St. Louis on Sunday, April 8, and Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is joining with the airline to make it a festive occasion.

Food, decorations, music, give-a-ways and a custom cake by local fav the Freeport Bakery will greet passengers. The flights leave 20 minutes of each other in Terminal B. The 3 hour and 20 minute flight to Austin departs at 9:30 a.m. followed by the 3 hour and 40 minute flight to St. Louis at 9:50 a.m.

The weekday schedule is earlier, with Austin departing at 6:30 a.m. and St. Louis at 8:50 a.m.

Austin, the capitol of Texas, is known as the "Live Music Capital of the World." A vibrant night life and cultural amenities await visitors.

St. Louis is famous for the Gateway Arch, barbecued ribs, jazz and blues music. It is home to the St. Louis Cardinals major league baseball team and the Anheuser-Busch brewery.

Sunday’s flight will mark the first time nonstop service has been available from Sacramento to Austin.

Both cities are popular business and leisure destinations.
