Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Smartphones Banned From Air Transportation
SACRAMENTO - The U.S. Department of Transportation has issued an emergency ban on all Samsung Galaxy Note 7smartphone devices from air transportation effective 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15.
Individuals who possess a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 device may not transport the device on their person, in carry-on baggage, or in checked baggage on flights to, from, or within the United States. The phones also cannot be shipped as air cargo.
The phone has been connected to almost 100 incidents of batteries overheating.
