SMF Welcomes New Air Canada Service to Toronto
Starting June 2, 2023, Northern Californians will be able to reach Eastern Canada with a new nonstop service between Sacramento International Airport (SMF) and Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ). Air Canada will offer four nonstop flights a week, creating a convenient new option for visiting Canada’s largest city. The new flights will also make it easier to access Canada’s eastern provinces, provide one-stop access to more international destinations through Air Canada's global network and welcome more Canadian travelers to the Capital City.
“We are thrilled to see our partnership with Air Canada continue to grow with the addition of a second destination,” said Cindy Nichol, Director of Sacramento County Department of Airports. “By having nonstop service to Toronto, travelers will not only have expanded access to Eastern Canada but also convenient one-stop access to the popular destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.”
Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, making it a “must-visit” for all sorts of travelers, whether their interests lie in food, culture, sports or the great outdoors. From the St. Lawrence Market to the Royal Ontario Museum to the Hockey Hall of Fame and distinct vibrant neighborhoods, The 6ix is a popular destination for leisure and business travelers alike.

Flights will take place on the carrier’s new Airbus A220-300 aircraft offering business and economy class service. Access to Air Canada’s vast international flight network is available through easy one-stop connections via Toronto, including London, Frankfurt, Delhi, and São Paulo.
Passengers traveling from Canada to Sacramento will pre-clear US customs prior to boarding in Toronto.
