Southwest Adds Nonstop Service To Baltimore Beginning In August
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Southwest, Sacramento International Airport’s largest airline presence, will begin offering nonstop flights between Sacramento (SMF) and Baltimore (BWI) effective Sunday, Aug. 7. It is the first time Sacramento International Airport has offered nonstop service to Baltimore. The daily flight will give travelers convenient service to Baltimore/Washington metropolitan areas as well as the Eastern Seaboard.
Southwest will operate the flights using 737 aircraft with the following schedules:
WN 1734 |6:00 a.m. | 2:05 p.m. WN 2158 | 1:10 p.m. | 3:50 p.m.
WN 1645 | 7:40 a.m. | 3:45 p.m. WN 612 | 3:10 p.m. | 5:50 p.m.

Southwest is located in Terminal B.
The Washington, D.C. area continues to be important to travelers originating from Sacramento, the capital of California. Many Sacramento-based lawmakers and others in government businesses depend on nonstop service from Sacramento International Airport. United Airlines offers seasonal nonstop service to Dulles International Airport and the addition of year-round service to Baltimore ensures that passengers can access the nation’s capital throughout the year.
The eastbound flight’s 2 p.m. arrival means that Sacramento passengers can arrive in downtown Washington, D.C. (Union Station) by 4 p.m. by connecting to Amtrak’s frequent service from the BWI Airport rail station.
Additionally, passengers can reach downtown Baltimore (15 minutes) and Philadelphia (75-90 minutes) with convenient train schedules.
